Antlion

Antlions are larva of lacewings.

Antlions did pits in sandy soil to capture their prey which is usually small black ants. After prey is captured they suck out the insides leaving behind an empty husk they dispose of outside of their pit.

They can be housed together provided they have enough room for each pit and this is something the whole family can enjoy no matter their age or experience keeping levels.

You will need access to small black ants, pinhead cricked or flightless fruit flies for feeding.
