A fascinating and unusual addition to the aquarium, the Spiny Eel is a nocturnal burrower that loves to hide in sand or among plants and driftwood. Best suited to experienced keepers who enjoy observing unique fish behaviour.

Adult Size: 30–90 cm depending on species
Ideal Tank Size: 200L or larger
Temperament: Peaceful with fish too large to eat; may consume small fish or shrimp
Water Temperature: 23–28°C
pH Range: 6.5–7.5
Compatible With: Medium to large peaceful fish; avoid small shrimp and nano fish
Feeding: Carnivore — prefers live or frozen foods such as bloodworm, earthworms, and small crustaceans. May take time to accept prepared foods.
