Springtails are tiny, soil-dwelling microarthropods that are an essential part of any bioactive terrarium or vivarium setup. They act as a natural clean-up crew, breaking down mould, fungi, decaying plant matter, and waste — keeping your enclosure clean, healthy, and odour-free. Our live Springtail cultures are active and ready to establish in your setup.
- Species: Folsomia candida (Tropical White Springtail)
- Size: 1–2 mm
- Use: Bioactive terrariums, vivariums, dart frog enclosures, reptile and invertebrate setups
- Diet: Mould, fungi, decaying organic matter
- Temperature: 18–28°C
- Humidity: Moderate to high
Simply introduce the culture to your substrate and the Springtails will naturally spread and self-sustain as long as food and moisture are available. An indispensable addition to any bioactive setup.
