The Threadfin Rainbow is one of the most delicate and enchanting fish in the freshwater hobby. Its gossamer-thin, thread-like fin extensions flutter gracefully with every movement, creating a mesmerising display that looks almost like a living piece of art. This listing is for a trio — one male and two females — giving you the best chance of observing their beautiful courtship behaviour.

• Temperament: Very peaceful; must be kept with gentle, small tankmates only

• Temperature: 24–28°C

• Best kept: In groups; avoid fin-nipping tankmates

Threadfin Rainbows are best showcased in a well-planted nano tank with calm water flow. Their extraordinary finnage is easily damaged by boisterous tankmates, so choose companions carefully.
